A Weekend Affair by Noelle Vella, Buck 50 Productions
A Review By: SS
Gabby and Mischelle are best friends. Mischelle is despondent, unable to get over the hurt and betrayal of finding out her husband cheated on her with a younger woman - and even worse, he walked out on her and their children. Meanwhile, Gabby's relationship has imploded, and her ex refuses to believe it's over and has started to stalk her. These ladies need a break.
To get away from all the chaos, the women head to Tybee Island, Georgia, looking for a weekend of fun in the sun. Once they get there, they encounter two charismatic yet mysterious men who have the power to inexplicably change their lives forever...or at least for the weekend.

An installment in a Series? Yes, Book 1
Narrator (s): Mishi LaChappelle
This story definitely started out with a bang, with Mischelle catching her husband in the throes of passion with another woman. As Mischelle begins the journey of raising her children alone, her bestie (Gabrielle) suggests they get away for a weekend of fun. What was supposed to be a girls' weekend away transitioned into a weekend affair when Mischelle and Gabrielle met two handsome men at a club on Tybee Island. Each individual was struggling with their own relationship issues and decided to throw caution to the wind for a weekend of fun. Fun was had by all as the paired-up couples found ways to pass the time. The storyline started out strong for me with well-developed characters. The characters in this story were very relatable. I thoroughly enjoyed how the friends showed each other support and gave each other sound advice, not just telling each other what they wanted to hear. Gabby did that for Mischelle and Diego did the same for Carl. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough closure for me, but I believe there is a sequel.
The narrator was a bit flat to me. I would probably avoid another narration by her and read the book on my own.
