Forever Tru by K.C. Mills
A Review By: LC
“You can’t love someone who doesn’t know how to love. You can’t heal someone who doesn’t understand they're broken, You can’t give more of yourself if their needs are never spoken.” (Billion Dollar Cash)
Cassius Avery’s life is anything but simple. From his childhood to past relationships, nothing about his life is conventional. Music is his escape from reality and has earned him the name “Billion Dollar Cash”. The void that exist in Cash’s life is one that money can’t fill and has been present for the majority of his life.
Tru Bisset has experienced heartbreak and betrayal on unimaginable levels. Torn between the comfort of her past relationship and the need to be secure in her future, she struggles daily to remember her worth.
Both Tru and Cash are aware that they need to leave the past in the past, but it’s easier said than done. Living in the past threatens to ruin their forming relationship. Cash and Tru will have to get out of their own way in order to grow together. Can two broken people heal each other? Will the past continue to damage them?
Review Notes:
Audio Book Publication Year: 2021
An installment in a Series? No
Narrator (s): Morae Brehon, Leon Nixon
Everyone can relate to being hurt by someone whom they thought loved them. Tru and Cash are these people! These two are falling hard for each other, one taking their time and, the other taking it slow . Both are still dealing with their past relationships and not by choice but by ties within their family. Cash has more emotional and trust issues than Tru. Once they get over those hurdles, nothing will stop them.
This was my first book I've read by KC Mill and I plan on reading more. She gets you through the characters’ back story then hits you with the goose egg and neatly ties it all together in the end. Leon Nixon did surprisingly well in this performance and he did not try to over do it He played the role of a record producer. Morae Brehon is a great narrator; she always reads with such finesse and gives life to her characters
I have no issues about the performances or any complaints about the book,
