A Review By: TR

A captivating, sexy romance that explores the limits of love at first sight....

Afro-Brazilian filmmaker Ren is recovering from a romantic betrayal. Kayla is a Black British artist and journalist keen to make her mark. Thrown together during a string of interviews in New York for Ren's latest film, they’re struck by an irresistible attraction. The two surrender to one night of searing honesty and passion, which leaves them with more questions than answers about the future.

With secrets lurking between them, letting their romance continue could upend the separate lives Ren and Kayla have so carefully built. But can they really risk losing their miraculous connection?

An installment in a Series? Yes

Narrator (s): Jakobi Diem, Jessye Romeo

Ren and Kayla's attraction is mesmerizing and truly felt like love at first sight. I love the fact that it was Ren who was all in, trusting his heart in spite of it being broken and betrayed before. Kayla, however, was not as trusting or readily available to experience true love since love itself was a foreign concept to her.

Sareeta Domingo is a new to me author. The characters were believable and genuine. I found myself rooting for them to be together even though it didn't make much sense to risk it all for someone you just met. The book was incredible.

Jakobi Diem is the G.O.A.T. of narration and can carry a storyline all on his own. His performance is always stellar. I wish he had a co-narrator that was comparable to his talent.

The co-narrator’s British accent was stellar. However, it was her other character voices that were not up to par. Everyone sounded the same. Although I was not very happy with her performance, I am willing to listen to more of her work to see if there is growth in her performance.
