Tainted by Blacc Topp
A Review By: K
Tainted is a three-part series tale full of juicy drama, lust, and revenge.
Driven by the need to avenge the rape of her nine-year-old sister at the hands of drug lords, Monica Deitrich has spent a decade training for a career in law enforcement. When she is hired by the DEA, she receives her first assignment: Infiltrate and bring down King Kochese, a ruthless killer who controls the Texas drug trade. She soon finds her job is not so simple. Never mind the danger of working undercover—the simple fact is that King Kochese is a virile, complicated man whose attractiveness distracts her from the job at hand.

An installment in a Series? Yes
Narrator (s): Anna Lynn Wright
Kochese is a ruthless man who trusts no one, not even his long time friends. Along comes Money, who changes his wants and outlooks on life in the drug game. But his sins of the past can not be easily forgotten or forgiven.
This book had a level of psychosis that was unexpected, and I liked it. Kochese was far more depraved than anyone knew. I liked how Monica/Money was able to quickly get into character. The narrator was able to perform with a good level of distinction in tone from each character.
Still, there were parts of the book that didn't seem quite realistic. For example: Jasmine (Monica's sister) went from mute for more than 10 years to chatter box seemingly instantaneously. She was articulate and expressive all at once.
