Vulnerable AF: Poems by Tarriona “Tank” Ball

A Review By: AT

The real-life story of a relationship in the author's past told in verse and short prose pieces. Relatable and honest, with Tank's signature mix of whimsy and realness, Vulnerable AF is about the difference between love and infatuation, the danger and confusion of losing yourself in the idea of someone else, and coming out on the other side of heartbreak with your sense of self-worth—and your sense of humor—stronger for it.

Honesty, vulnerability, relatability—all words that adequately describe this work of poetry and prose by the uber talented Tarriona “Tank” Ball. This collection is comprised of her reflections on a past relationship, highlighting the passion and pain signature of many love stories. This very personal work was narrated by the author herself which allowed all of the nuances and emotions to shine through. The desire to be loved out loud was evident and so relatable for many women. I felt her feelings, smiled at her whimsy, and wished for more of her words. Great collection!
