Review Notes:
Audio Book Publication Year: 2024
An installment in a Series? No
Narrator (s): Morae Brehon, Myles Washington
Morae Brehon, Myles Washington: Morae Brehon brought Daniella to life. She captured the subtle strength of Ella. Her voice fits the character so well. I could not imagine anyone else playing her. I appreciate the emotions she brought and that she tries to do the men’s voices. I really enjoyed her as Daniella.
Myles Washington played a different role with Alvin. I feel like this book showed his range. It was nice to hear him be a studious guy. He still had that hood undertone, but I believed him as a civil engineer. He was the perfect balance to Morae’s character. I believe this was my first time hearing them together and I really enjoyed it.
This friends to lovers story was super cute. I loved how straight forward the writing was. She handled all the complex emotions of the book so well. I also liked how she showed the different family dynamics. This short listen took me on a ride, and I hope this author adds more of her stories to audio.
