On the Run by Charae Lewis

A Review By: LC

In Kanai’s eyes, love was supposed to be simple.

Quay mirrored the same sentiments, and once they revealed their true feelings for each other, they began to embark on a journey together. Suddenly, something they can’t quite comprehend happens leaving them lost, confused, and most of all saddened by their new reality. Words aren’t spoken, vacancies began to settle in, and resentment occurs, which causes the couple to live with unanswered concerns for years to come.

Can Kanai and Quay push through the events that rocked their world...or will their love be lost forever?

Review Notes:

Audio Book Publication Year: 2021

An installment in a Series? No

Narrator (s): Morae Brehon, Jakobi Diem

I did not know what to expect when I read this! It starts off as an innocent love that both characters were trying to deny. Kanai fell in love with Quay, and all of sudden, he disappeared into thin air. Kanai has the support of her loving grandmother and her ghetto fabulous no non sense mom. Quay is away and now distant from himself and family.

I liked that the author walked through the emotional unpacking as one would go through with the situation at hand, but she didn't have one of the characters embrace their health condition until the end of the book, although there are people who embrace this particular condition on a day to day basis.

Both narrators did a good job. I rarely have complaints when it comes to Jakobi or Morae.
