These two souls meet due to a misguided situation. While Chauncey tries to smooth out any fall back, he finds out that Ava is more than meets the eye.
This book took me through many hills and valleys. I loved that both the main characters were not what they appeared to be on the surface. Winston gave the right voice to Chauncey; his passion and conviction was executed perfectly. While Lauryn let us hear the fire in Ava's soul.
These two fighting their clear feelings and holding back when it wasn't really necessary drove me crazy. Though you can understand the hesitance, it made for a torturous wanting that each character could've avoided.
