Audio Book Publication Year: 2021

An installment in a Series? Yes

Narrator (s): Kim Staunton

Jewel has had a crush on Eli since their childhood friendship. It’s befitting these two friends find love in their fake, forced, real marriage. Eli is patient and loving. He does everything possible to prove to Jewel he is not his younger, selfish self who cheated with his cousin’s wife. Jewel is headstrong and determined to divorce Eli as soon as possible. However, the heart knows what the heart needs and wants.

Ms. Beverly Jenkins’ penmanship for historical romance is fierce and always serves up an unforgettable storyline. I’m always captivated by Ms. Jenkins ability to write historical romance and keep the reader engaged until the end. Kim Staunton’s voice is undeniably made for historical fiction. I really enjoy her narration and look forward to listening to more of her work.
